  • Most of the jobs created are temporary and often menial. Real unemployment has to be around 20%. If you're not working, you are unemployed!

  • Everyone will need medical care at some point, and most people will need catastrophic care. The people who say they don't need health insurance probably don't endorse preventive health care either, and it is preventive health care that often minimizes the need for catastrophic care.

  • There is no black or white answer, just as there is no red or blue answer. We are still living beyond our means and resources, and we want luxuries we can't afford. We have become victims of the snake oil salesmen in banking and on Wall Street that want all of our money. People, we are broke.

  • You can't keep supporting people who have no skills. They will never find work and they will continue to drain the economy if the present approach continues. You don't deserve big screen TVs and other luxuries if you don't work.

  • This award cheapens the Peace Prize honor tremendously, but it does leave open the strong possibility of President Obama winning it again each of the next seven years because obviously you don't have to accomplish anything anymore.

  • Joe Kennedy makes almost three times as much ($545,000) selling heating oil than he would as a senator. No wonder he chose not to run. I fear there will be major discomfort for many Americans this winter, but why plan now? It's still the summer according to the calendar.

  • What happens when the cold weather comes and unemployment insurance ends? People will have to choose between eating and warmth, or possibly neither. These are immediate issues that must be addressed even before health care.
